-Ph.D. Imperial College, London in Chemistry and Materials on the electrochemical pumping of protons for chemical synthesis reactions.
-UTC Chair Professor, and Director of the Connecticut Global Fuel cell center at the University of Connecticut. Research: electrochemical utilization and synthesis of H2 and H2 carriers.
-HF Coors Distinguished Professor in Ceramics at the Colorado School of Mines. Electrochemical synthesis of H2 using proton and oxygen conductors. 
-Spun of a company, LERC, form this work; Chief Technology Officer;  helped raise $43 million for the company. Electrochemical H2and NH3
-Published 250 papers on high temperature electrolysis including hydrogen, as well as 6 patents and numerous invitations to conferences.
